The sunny promenade in the spa town Merano, South Tyrol and its surroundings offer numerous possibilities for strolling around between 300 and 500 metres above sea level and amidst exotic and Mediterranean plants. Our tips: Tappeiner Promenade from Merano to Quarazze, Passer Promenade, Gilf Promenade with waterfall, Sissi Path to Trauttmansdorff Castle, Falknerweg Path in Tirolo, and the Grabbach Promenade in Lagundo.
One level higher than the promenade, between 500 and 800 metres above sea level, you'll find the renowned irrigation channels (Waalwege). Due to the lack of rainfall in Burgraviato, intelligent irrigation channels have been developed over the course of the centuries. The very enchanting hike along these water channels leads through orchards, vineyards, forests and meadows. The lower mountain range between 800 and 1500 metres above sea level offers many possibilities for extended hikes through the varied mountain world of the Southern Alps.
